Almost at the end of the secondary phase and it has obtained a nice sweetness which is not fully developed yet but still nice. The fruit is there with minerality in the form of dusty stone which is restrained.
It still needs a bit of time to open up and I would drink the rest of my bottles within the next 2 years.

Somewhat restrained but lovely nose. Medium dark cherry color. Fascinating earth notes blend seamlessly with hints of fruit. Light to medium body. Nice finish. Held up well to beef stew. Stored at 54 F since purchase in 2007. For an '05 this one is now in the sweet zone and will last years I think.

This was beautiful and in a great place. Wish I bought tons of this... This had a little brett but only a touch, much cleaner than the last bottle. I am definitely looking forward to the Chapelle and Climat du Val.

(Lafouge Auxey-Duresses 1er Cru "Les Duresses") The wine had a soaring nose of spice, red berry fruit and minerals. The palate was a bit lean but explosive red berry fruit, a pillowy tetxure and those amazing 2005 ripe sweet tannins. Long finish and kept getting way complex as it aerated. Yum. Buying some for the cellar. No doubt.

This bottle was overwhelmed by brett (and I like old-school Tempier, Beaucastel, and Musar).

Lovely eep red, medium to light body. Cherries, mushrooms, wet slate. Nicely balanced. Reasonable QPR at the $33 I paid five years ago.
