Nicely matured, lots of violets and blueberries, quite flowery yet with some white pepper, has evolved nicely over the years. Energetic but should be had in the coming 1-2 years, I think.

Very ripe for Chinon, with only traces of pyrazine and no rustic or brett character. I’d never have called this blind but it’s pretty good for what it is, with lots of juicy grapey fruit and some savory mineral character too. M+ body, M to M+ acid, M- tannins. This will drink well for a few more years and maybe the mineral character will develop some. 6.3-6.4/10

This started out REAL hot and unpleasant. After an hour in the glass, acidity and minerality emerged to add a bit of balance. Still fairly primary and rustic. A good daily drinker but not much more.

Tasted blind. Bright, full purple with clarity. Redolent aromas of currants, green pepper pyrazines, roasted espresso, black pepper, anise, bay leaf, tomato and violet flowers. Savory black fruit on the palate, pungent secondary depth of dried rosemary, five spice and flowers. Lean-bodied, with pronounced acidity and firm broad-grained tannins. Good overall complexity throughout.

Très bon Chinon. Fruits noirs mûrs bien gourmands, avec un peu de graphite et de petits tanins.
