Really lovely - pineapple on the nose via the classic California chard vibes. On the palate it is rich and smooth - and a delicious long finish. We just had this with a spicy dish and it was a good pairing.

This wine is now a light gold , with long legs in the glass, and the nose is toasty with coconut, but also fresh with seashells, lemon and orange, and tropical notes of guava and pineapple. On the palate, viscous but acidic, with flavours of dry sour apples, leading into a buttery finish, with hints of the caramel in a tarte tatin. Light and refreshing , but with an arresting sweet and sour quality. An interesting take on Chardonnay.

ABC with the "Running" Club (Leafy West London): Another well-balanced but clearly new world chard. Compared to the S&B - a little more sweetness, but also more substance and balance to it. Perhaps a hint of lemon merengue pie filling? Kept on going back and forth between these two wines as to which I preferred (tellingly, the S&B bottle was emptied before this one). Lovely wine, crowd pleasing wine, and you'd be delighted to be served it - but even more than the previous one I think you'd find yourself fatigued if you had to drink too much of it.

North London TWS Tastings series: Chardonnay and Pinot Noir (Must and Lees, N1): Oooh I liked this
Palate of ripe apple and dried coconut. A lovely lemon spritz hanging in the air. Quite exuberant - reminds me of a lemon meringue pie.
Palate delivers what you’d expect from the nose. Rich ripe apple, banana, full silky body but good acidity to cut through. Very balanced.
Passes the test of would I buy this - yes I bought 6 bottles the next morning!

Chardonnays and Pinots of North London (Must & Lees): Rich, energetic, creamy with some quince. A real crowd-pleaser, with just a touch of sweetness. Group #3 of the whites tonight.
