Garnet to dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of white pepper, plums and red cherries. Flavors of red cherries, berries and plums. Medium acidity, medium to firm tannin, full bodied. Drink now with air or continue to hold.

One of the best wines we have had. Eight hour decant and still tight. Impressive, full bodied, well balanced Mt Veeder wine. The barrel they used seems to be a very high quality french medium toast barrel. This bottle could age a long time. Really good wine.

Darioush Wine Dinner (TCC): I might have suggested decanting this during the dinner before pouring. Instead it was opened early but left in the bottle. Initial impression is a bit tight and disjointed. The heat comes through and the first few sips aren't totally wonderful. Then though it starts to adjust and that Veeder greenness is there which to me is a real positive. It balances the fruit and makes the wine more interesting. Again a great pairing here (albeit a pretty standard one) with the steak.

Very young. Decanted first an hour still needed more time to breathe - get notes of fruit and berries. But still very tight.
