  • The color is a nice dark red but the aromatic profile is still very primary with a tightly wound fruit patttern. The wine doesn't reveal itself until the next day where suddenly complexity appears and the structure becomes wider and lighter. THe structure is clearly there but time is of the essence here.

  • My favorite of all Boggione Barolos I have tasted so far. The 2016 is a wine of dimension and a beautiful lift. The fruit spectrum shows a lovely ethereal touch, big persistence and a certain feel of weightlessness on the palate. The complex structure is evident, it's a wine that grows in the glass and will grow a lot in the cellar. Tart cherry, crushed berries, wet asphalt, black tea and a hint of chestnut mingle nicely with a mineral component. Packing finish. Can’t wait to watch this wines the upcoming years/decade.

  • 15% ABV but doesn't seem like it. Beautiful translucent ruby color, like Burgundy. Nose shows lavender, cherries, spicebox, anise and strawberry jam. Surprisingly elegant for such a young wine, this is not a monolithic Barolo. Showing very well right now, though this will clearly be better with 10-20 years of age. Floral and red fruited, light-to-medium bodied, with lively acidity, and sneaky dry tannins.

  • 15% alcohol. Organic production. The family-run farm produces only one wine - this Barolo with 1.1 hectares of grapes in the renowned Brunate vineyard. The grapes were planted back to 1956. The grapes previously went to Michele Chiarlo, but the family decided a few years back to produce wine themselves. Only 6000 bottles are produced. About 60% of the bottles come to Norway.

Garnet red, with lighter edge. Touch of orange. Slightly forward aromas, yet an exemplary tight and concentrated. Delicious aromas of red crushed berries, strong rose meadow, light tar, some spice and this masculine deep dust layer that impresses. Pretty full bodied wine and slightly broader mouthfeel. Great concentrated fruit image of cherries, raspberries, hints of fermented plums and licorice boat. Deep salinity from the soil impresses. Pure acidity provides enough freshness to the wine. Firm tannins. Some alcoholic feeling in the fruit that is reinforced on the long finish where a more burning Sensation. There is still balance in the wine, and the conclusion is that this is a very impressive wine. For great meat meal.
