Bottle taken from my personal cellar and presented as an unknown in double-blind fashion to the Vintage Wines, Ltd. tasting group. My tasting was therefore unblinded. Bright disc. Deep garnet robe with brick rim. Clean but subdued nose, opening over 90 minutes in decanter to show moderately intense black fruits, cigar box and spice aromas. Full-bodied on the palate, with low acidity and melted tannins. The flavors mirror the nose, but the mid-palate thins out and the finish is relatively terse.
