Compared to the 2020 served next to it, this showed the benefits of age, and it was served at the correct temperature too; still distinctive sauvignon blanc; well made wine with a good finish, still too aggressive. I doubt I would be able to drink more than a glass of this. I don’t know who buys and drinks these wines.

Not an excessively aggressive SB nose but possibly because the bottle is very cold. Quite exotic and tropical. Highly acidic and somewhat fractured and angular. Herbal and grassy.

South African wines of North London (Must & Lees): A really big, bold nose, grassy with a touch of cream. A bitter, leesy experience on the palate, which was fairly full-bodied and rolled off nicely onto the finish. Well-balanced wine and definitely one of the better NW Sauvignons I've had.

South Africa (Must and Lees, N1): Pale Yellow. Slightly more tropical than the 2020 served alongside despite this being colder. Less aromatic on the nose intitally (likely also due to the temperature). As it warmed up it became more rounded, and felt more integrated and complete than the younger wine, with honied notes and melon - a little sweeter, a little more mellow. Very nice and an easy quaffer.

North London TWS Tastings series: South Africa (Must and Lees, N1) (Must and Lees N1): On the nose - passion fruit, juicy peach yogurt, a little grassy
On the palate a little more gooseberry with more creaminess with time. SB high acid finish.
Simple and appealing but nothing standout
