  I had the Bussia 2016 a while ago which I thought were an off bottle due to the green/stemmy character which I did not find attractive at all. a few months later I got this one blind and it had the exact same pronounced nose. So I guess it is the style that just doesn't suit my taste. Having said that, I do see the quality of the wine but I just can't seem to abstract from the stemmy/green notes.

  1 hour decant in glass. Dark garnet with dark brick edge in color. Muted nose of menthol, tar, licorice and dark fruit. On the palate: bitter dirt, muted dark fruit, black licorice and wood spice. I replaced the cork and circled back the next day to see if it had changed. The nose has become a bit less muted and popped notes of violet, but the wine was consistent as compared to day one. I am not rating this bottle as I suspect it was not properly stored by the merchant (I bought it the same day I drank it) and my experience does not seem consistent with notes from other drinkers. If I did rate this, it would have been 87.

  A spectacular wine, with a lot of undergrowth, truffle, and then spicy notes, but with a sweet spice character. A beautiful fruit that travels through the back of the nose and the palate equally. A wine of dreams, with tannins and structure that suggest a truly eternal aging potential.
  
  
  Un vino spettacolare, tanto sottobosco, tartufo, poi note speziate ma di Spezia dolce. Un bellissimo frutto che attraversa il retronasale e il palato ugualmente. Vino dei sogni, il tannino e la struttura lasciano presagire un invecchiamento davvero eterno possibile

  Allowed the bottle to breathe for about an hour. Complex wine, supple tannins, long finish.
