2004 Rosella's Vineyard Pinot Noir Horizontal (Drew's House): Bottle decanted for 1-1.5 hr. This wine exhibited a watermelon red color with a lackluster nose of cherry and not much else. On the palate, this wine tasted like a watered down version of the blend that this clone makes up. HS85

Great to compare up against the regular Miner Family blended Rosella's. I thought this was a touch hotter on the finish, and seemed like it was missing just a little something. Thanks to Dave for overnighting this for the tasting; it was a treat to compare the two.

Roasted strawberries and mature raspberry on nose and palate. I thought it was heat damaged. Others thought it was past peak.

A Baker’s Dozen of Rosella’s - A Horizontal of ’04 Rosella’s Pinot Noir (Drew's in Durham, NC): Bottle decanted 45 minutes. Very pale color and not much on the nose. Clear, light cherry and strawberry flavors have little depth and complexity. Light, almost thin body with a choppy and short finish. The Rosella’s vineyard blend has much more depth, texture and complexity.

Complete 2004 Rosella's Pinot Horizontal (Durham, NC): Dusty elements to the nose. Choppy, linear, hot and acidic. Not my cup of tea. Notably more simplistic than the blended bottling.
