Exactly one year ago today, we tasted Kleine Zalze's wines at the winery's tasting room with our charismatic host Wayne van Rooyen. I hence opened this bottle today in memory of the good time I had with friends on last year's trip to South Africa's coastal region. It is hard to imagine that it has been only a year ago, today it seems to have been in a different time…
Black currant, cherry, chocolate, cedar box and spices, with lively acidity, fine tannin and very good length. Average concentration and complexity. A solid Cabernet, but not quite as striking as the superb 2017 we tasted at Kleine Zalze that year. Still, good value. Start drinking from 2025. 88+

Has a lot of potential, but I would keep for a few years (2-4) . Platters - 94 compared to 2017 - 95
Still really great value
