Closed in, needs air, which is typical for Hogue LH Rieslings when young. Opens up to a rich sappy wine of nectarine and citrus. Could use a bit more acid but is not really cloying. Similar in quality to their 2016 and slightly inferior to their 2017. No botrytis and was not expecting it. Excellent fruit intensity. A recent tasting shows that it has improved. One of the few domestic Rieslings that will improve with age. Upgraded to 90.
