All but the last couple of sips was an 89, the last two were a 94. We didn't decant this but probably should have. It was wound tight but opened and softened throughout our meal. The blend of varietals yields a complex wine that's hard to pin down but easy to enjoy.

This turned out to be a meaty but well balanced wine. Drank very well early on, and thought it only slightly improved over next hour. Wine would have been ideal with a nice steak.

Inky, black color. Plummy nose. Red-fruited in the mouth on day one but was much darker on day two. This seemed ripe and fruit packed on day one but went porty on day two. There is plummy fruit but heavy oak that leads to cinnamon on the palate. The alcohol is much more evident on day two, but it was easily in check on day one. The finish is oaky and long. Overall, this is a wine to be popped and poured. I would not give it much more time on the cellar.

We like this blend a lot. I find it difficult to describe the fruit except to say it was inky dark fruit. No single flavor popped and there was a little vanilla and maybe even anise in there. Again, we liked it. We have another and we are looking forward to it.

Smooth and slightly jammy and even a black pepper bite. We sat on the balcony admiring the sunset.
