  • Traditional burgundian flavors and textures - red fruits, earth and a lean, medium-bodied texture. What is there is enjoyable, but overall the wine seems a bit muted.

  • Drank this yesterday without notes, so going from memory. I was slightly disappointed in this wine as it was generally under-ripe - which is a typical characteristic of the '04 vintage. What flavors are there were mostly red berry with some mineral notes. Lean with too much acidity, and not really much character or depth.

  • After a couple hours of decanting the wine was still somewhat subdued on the nose. There was some red raspberry, spice and other notes. After another hour or two, it opened up a bit more, with additional layers of vanilla, bergamot, fungi and cola.

On the palette, nice acidity, good balanced tannin, red raspberry, mineral, earth notes, some lingering pickling spice, green bell pepper.

Overall, the wine was delicate, but had a lot of aromas and flavor, if you were willing to dig into it. The wine was pleasing, complex and intriguing.
