  • Mini-vertical of special releases 1978 Plantacion RE, 1989 and 1994 Club de Cosecheros Reserva. Evolved in colour, watery rim. Orange peel, lovage, balsamic notes, hints of red fruit and tobacco on the nose. Tired on the palate with bright acidity and not too much fruit left. Well balanced overall but acidity took over with more time in the glass. Drink up. 89?

  • Another bottle from origin,
great well known name, a 0,7 Ltr bottle, 11,5% ABV only,
very soaked through cork, great smell, without doubt Rioja, balsamic tones, red fruit in the background,
pronounced acid driven still, the fruit a little tired, but this bottle is all about elegance, light as a feather on the palate, the still present acid gives structure, with some aeration in the glass this one gets more weight, lingering finish, another great experience, drink or hold for some more years!
****, with two hours aeration an easy 91

  • Had been standing up for a month and the bottom inch was discarded for sediment. Other than that the bottle is clean. Cork wet through and broke apart on extraction. Colour shows some orange / brown at the rim, on the nose clean as a whistle, no mustiness. The palate could only be Rioja, still traces of american oak, church pews, old leather books and orange rind. Only lacking very slightly a bit of midpalate oomph to make this truly top class. Super and no rush at all. ****
