  This was wonderfully deep and pure, but it absolutely needs air and time -- and lots of it. I drank it glass by glass over a week and the last glass was the best. Hope I get a chance to try it again.

  Flickinger Tasting at The Casino (Chicago, IL): Still can't overstate my excitement about getting to revisit this bottle. It was a little lost in the fray tonight, but the quality is unmistakable. Ripe, powerful, with everything in spades. Bone dry, but with so much fruit it doesn't actually feel dry. Concentration but lift and elegance. A masterpiece of riesling.

  Decanted for 1 hour, was completely closed giving almost nothing on the palate. After 2-2.30 hours the wine opened up and blossomed beautifully. No formal notes but I recall very pure petrol notes, with haystack and stone fruits with orange and lemon peel. Very complex. Great wine, wotn. Have 2 more but will seek out and buy another 6, this is an extremely good qpr that wine lovers should seek out.
