  • Sauvignon Blanc predominates. Floral. Off dry. But nicely crisp.

  • Intense fruit, citrus peel, apple and candied lemon, some toast, good length and freshness

  • En-Primeur campaign for the 2021 vintage; 4/25/2022-4/29/2022 (Bordeaux): Medium minus intensity aromas of green apple, clean, cream…this is from a half empty bottle and I’m not sure how long it’s been open. Palate offers more with juicy acidity, green apple, green gages and a textured burr to the mid palate, fruit, and tannins present. Relatively long. Good

  • A very good, easy to drink early on, Bordeaux blanc table wine for my palate; neither too grassy Sauvignon Blanc style nor too heavy Semillon.

Dry, above all there is this very good freshness, and then nice fruit, good balance between lime, grass, unripe mango, white rice, vanilla beans, but all in an understated and elegant fashion. Not so intense or deep, so would not save this for many years but it is drinking so nicely right now, so why bother?

As I understand it this is vinified in the same fashion as the Bordeaux Blanc Définition on three year old oak barrels sur lie for a year. The difference is that the grapes for this cuvée is 70 % Sauvignon Blanc and 30 % Sémillon versus the 50/50 blend of the Définition and that these are grapes from parcels outside of Sauternes (Barsac, Entre-deux-Mers and Côte de Franc).

  • Very pale yellow colour.
A slightly sweet scent of pineapple, kiwi and other tropical fruits.
Surprisingly dry and more serious on the palate than expected from the scent. Acidic and the sweetness is more an aroma of unripe, woody pineapple than an actual taste.
Cooked lemons with a tinge of grapefruit and a hint of lime -without the aromatics.
After a while in the glass and a higher temperature some flowery notes appear, such as passionflower.
The next day the acidity had amplified and the wine had not spent the night well.
