Better than the bottle maybe a year and a half ago. This time the nose is more cohesive and the mouthfeel is so wispy and delicate, in contrast to the power and intensity of the flavors on the palate. Very good.

PnP. Very light color, like most Falkenstein wines. On opening, a lot of peach and apricot, but as it sits, more lime leaf, lemon, and stone come out. Some supporting petrol notes as well. Palate is very similar, but the petrol is a bit more noticeable. Light body but it has amazing concentration. The slight sweetness is balanced by firm acidity, so you get a very balanced sweet fruit/acidity balance in the finish. I was able to buy three of these on release and this is the first one I've opened since I think this cuvee normally needs time to integrate. But this is in a really nice spot, and while it has still has that youthful exuberance and freshness, the acidity doesn't seem as obtrusive as it does in some young Falkensteins. Long, complex finish. Really classic and will likely get better.

Not much to add from other notes. This is just racy, balanced, zippy deliciousness. The fruit is on the apple-ish side, not much green herbs, a bit more Mosel-y to me than, say, some Lauers.

Consistent with my prior note. This has absolutely everything I look for in a Kabinett. Sleek, electric fruit; moderate sweetness balanced by acidity; and a weightless presence. Impressive concentration for the level. Impossible not to have a smile on your face as you drink this wine.

Drank over three days and was best on days two and three. Good acidity, sweetness, and overall balance. Still quite youthful.
