dense ruby pour. meaty with dark berries and clay on the nose. medium bodied with medium acidity, lithe and balanced. super savory with more juicy dark fruit and stern iron on the palate. terse dry finish yet cleansing. very northern rhone like and very good. l rod can’t miss.

More cool climate Spaniards, with a leaning towards the natural. A producer concentrating on native varieties, this being Brancellao, Caíño and Ferrol. Native yeasts, 6 months in French oak (none new, I believe).
A hell of a lot of flavour and colour for a wine of only 12.5%abv. Surprisingly, a lot of milk chocolate, a creamy texture, complimented by fresh raspberry and strawberry, delicious. Only low+ tannins (thin skinned grapes and destemming) and med acid (lower than expected). May have been better a year or so ago, with more vibrancy.

Fabulous juice. Pure and concentrated with notes of parma violets and posh raspberry jam. The palate is broad and virile though never combative and rests on a lively and intoxicating acid structure. Some plums and iron filings on the finish. This is life-affirming stuff. Superb.
