Prior bottle was just over a year ago and this wine continues to show consistently. Nose shows lemon, grapefruit, other mixed citrus notes and mineral qualities. Remains to the light side of medium bodied with the same lemon and lime notes upfront, deepening through the middle with white apple and peach. Slightly rounder and richer towards the back than previously and the transition to the finish (once the wine has warmed) worked quite well with tart citrus qualities providing the bridge. While I thought the Gridley Bluff Point has evolved since last year, the STV has remained quite consistent. The fruit/acidity balance here should continue to improve a bit longer than I originally anticipated and this wine still has future positive evolutionary potential.

Previously tasted at the winery almost six months ago and this wine has improved in that time. Lemon, mixed citrus and mineral notes on the nose. Remains just light of medium bodied and opened at 50F, warming to 55F and showed the best on the warmer end of that range. Lemon and lime remain the dominant upfront notes, but rather than apricot, it has taken on a much more open, peach-based mid-body note. The middle seems a bit more expressive than it was previously and the acidity towards the back is much more in balance with the fruit. Finishes with citrus notes which are tied in quite well to the mid-body peach providing good contrasts along with mineral qualities. In general, this wine, while remaining dryer and more in the citrus/lemon family than the Gridley Bluff Point, now shows better fruit/acidity balance than it previously did. Feels like it could continue to improve along these lines for at least another 6-12 months at least with several more years at that level.

Tasted at the winery. Lemon and floral notes on the nose. Close to medium bodied (11.4% ABV) with mainly notes of lemon and lime upfront. Adds some apricot through the middle and then grapefruit in the back. Acidity is very good throughout and gives the wine a solid backbone and ties nicely into the slate/stone mineral finish. Although the flavors were mostly in the tart/citrus family, when combined with the acidity, the mineral notes on the finish and the apricot in the middle, it exhibited more complexity than might otherwise expect. As the acidity and the fruit come together, should show even better. Plan to try my first from bottle in late Spring 2018 and assess.

Purchased at winery in 2018. A tad drier than the style of Riesling we usually enjoy, but overall very nice.
