Ruby color. Black cherry on nose. Medium to full body. Notes of dried dark cherries withered from years in the sun over a base of flint with pronounced tannins and strong astringency. Medium finish. Lasted forever in the bottle in the fridge.

I was worried about this wine being open for too long so I popped it and didn't decant. The wine was in good shape and I am guessing that I could have decanted without a problem. We drank blind and many had trouble guessing the varietal and region.

Popped and poured but it really needed an hour or so to open up. Some black cherry and spice on the nose along with as fair amount of oak. Medium bodied with black and red cherry fruit on the palate with notes of crushed rocks and cedar. The oak became more integrated as the wine evolved. Medium length finish with firm tannins and little heat along with some earthiness and spice. This is a nice Nebboilo blend which although approachable now has it's best years ahead of it. (88+ pts)

Needed about 3 hours to open - strong desiccated fruit, high tannins, medium to high acid.
