Very pleasant with the tannins nicely melted but it still has the potential to aged more. The fruitful buffet is doninated by currant and black currant flavor. The finish highlights smoky and licorice notes.

Malbec is not my “go to” varietal but this was excellent. Pleasant nose of fruit, florals, and wood. Fruit and oak on the palate with medium body and structured tanins. Bought it in La Recoleta, Buenos Aires.

Retail $22. Big Ass Bottle. Under DIAM 5. While Malbec has its origins in France, it has found a home in Argentina. Dark in color with really dark fruit: black raspberry, cassis, and plum. Add in mocha, forest floor, and black pepper and we are getting close. The palate is more New World than Old, I would say but it is not overly fruity, either. Good balance, though, with a zinginess that comes close to eclipsing all other aspects. What I am saying, I guess, is that this is a wonderful quaff, particularly for the price.
Great VFM. Deep ruby color. Pronounced aromas of black cherry, jamminess, secondary notes of toast cedar and smoke. Full body, a lot of fruits and oak on the palate too. M acidity, soft tannins and medium finish. Very enjoyable. It has enough structure to age for a few more years
