Italian Wine Scholar Class @ The Texas Wine School. Textbook natty, it split the class among generational lines. Organic, biodynamic, unfiltered, unfined, 75% Merlot & 25% Pignolo, w/ wild yeasts & no added sulphites. Cloudy ruby. A touch of Brett gives way to pronounced volatile acidity & ethyl acetate (nail polish remover). After lots of air, it segues into candied red cherry, spiced cranberry, bruised red apple cider and weed. Dry to off-dry, w/ ripe, juicy candied red fruit. A slight sparkle on the tongue & searingly high acidity to balance the fruit. Med (-) tannins & med alcohol (13%). Medium bodied, w/ med flavor intensity & sweet & sour, balsamic, savory finish. An acid trip in a glass. Drink now, not intended for aging, although better a week after opening.

RS18 is a sublime texture of crimson velvet sweatpants and also a rich concentrated core of saturated sweet stewed fruits. A total standout. Some won't tolerate. This is unapologetically raw and oozing with VA. But like it or not, this is an experience and I like experiences.
Deep aromas of spiced cranberry and apple cider turn to flavors of syrupy dates and grape jelly. Plays tricks on the mind. Is this really sweet? Or just perception?

Dark purple, some Xmas spice but lots of ripe purple fruit. 14% alcohol and quite big in every way. It is volatile, but that was mostly seen on the finish, the tannin is a little sharp, very big sweet fruited. Full of character and not for all, but enjoyable for sure.

Like this wine -- great natty energy, deft handling of the acetic notes. Great character.

Tart, almost sour candy like. This is a fun wine to try but that is as far as I would go.
