  • brilliant darker ruby; bright and light on its feet to start then more stuffing as it opened up; acidity keeps it lively; great with food over two nights

  • Probably opened this a few years too early but was celebrating with some dear friends.

Opened at 3:45 PM and decanted in fridge until 6:30 PM. Initially the nose was taught but giving hints of classic Burgundy: black cherry, graphite and a touch of forest floor. Palate was reserved and powerful with ripping acidity. Opened up quite nicely after 2.5 hour decant to more pronounced flavors of slightly underripe raspberry, tart cherry. Last glass began to display tertiary stuff like forest floor and mineral tones. Paired quite well with shallot+ gem lettuce salad and slow roasted chicken thighs. The earthy, bright salad helped accentuate the underripe flavors from the bottle.

Enjoyed the wine immensely and can appreciate its potential, but again, opened at least 18 months too early. Strongly recommend a long decant to open it up.

  • Beautiful village level burgundy. This is one to enjoy right now, not a ton of structure, but what is there is lovely and the fruit is complex, particularly after a 60 minute decant. I’d happily drink this over many $100 premier cru bottles.

  • Yes yes yes! Thank you Wendy! Amazing for the price, beautiful soft plumb, floral, spice, tannin, balance, and that unmistakable burgundy depth and power. Not oaky, not hot and alcoholic, not metallic and uninteresting like many Bourgogne levels can be.

Goes to show a great producer can make absolutely delicious, delightful, beautiful village (or lesser) level wines.

Long, evolving finish, better and more interesting as it opens- offering deeper acidity, elegance and balanced touches of hoisin, violets, mushrooms, clean earth, fresh sourced not-heavy mushrooms, all the goods.

So light and weightless, yet so concentrated but never gloopy or weighing heavy. Far fuckin out. Aloha Wendy

  • Lovely, tensile, highly perfumed. Pure red cherry, some plum skin and hints of umeshu plum wine. A bit of structure underneath that pokes out in a few angles, but generally vivacious and charming. An excellent village wine.
