I found this wine to be way too oaky, such that the other flavors were masked. It was very soft with some nice tropical fruit flavors and great, food-friendly acidity. But, oh the oak. I'll have to give my remaining two bottles away. My sister liked it though.

Gloriously good juice. Very fine mineral notes. My first taste of this esteemed estate and it won't be the last! Had a bit of extra oak upon opening but it faded quickly.

Rich, lush citrus, melon, and honeysuckle up front. The taste really comes together after about 20 minutes of breathing. The minerality is present on the finish, which foreshadows what the aging process will reveal. I love Leeuwin Estate chards because they're not overly-oaked like so many typical California chards. The Prelude Series chards continue to be one of the best deals around for new world chardonnay. And they have staying power!
