Spanish fun day one (N&J's place, Canberra): From Coravin. Chalky, a little citrus, almond meal, slight saline, a slightly waxy quality with time a touch of meatiness. Tangy, slight alcohol warmth, midge of waxy texture, flavours a little muted, offering lemon and almond on the palate finishes a little short. Hmm

TSA - Marco de Jerez (Zoom call): From Coravin. Salted lemons, garrigue, quite vibrant, slight wood glue notes with time. Medium plus acidity, has more breadth and a greater sense of 'thickness' than the Blanco de Hornillos, again citrus notes, the garrige note more present on the palate. Nice. Yum.

Palomino and PX. Saline nose, touch of brown apple and caramel, lemon. Full body, soft, creamy, low acidity, lemony edge and vanilla leesy notes. You really notice the low acidity f the grapes in a way you don’t with fino Sherry. Almost comes across like a low acidity Chardonnay. Found it a bit to rich but left open over night it gained a freshness and this is actually really nice. Drank it with all kinds of things, it’s a very versatile food wine. This might be the future of Sherry.

Gold. Lovely and saline. Lemon - lightly preserved lemon. Long. Lovely balance richness. Impressive texture.
