  Medium ruby colour. Cherry pit, red fruit, raspberry, iodine, light spice, and light vanilla, with fresh acidity, smooth tannin, and very good length. Pleasant cherry pit bitterness.
  
  All pure red fruit and mixed berry notes with fresh acidity and soft, fine tannin on day two.
  
  A fresh and elegant expression of German Pinot Noir. And even if the 2018 does not quite achieve the heights of the 2016, this is very beautiful Pinot Noir, and quite impressive in the context of the vintage. Needs some time. Drink from 2026+.

  2018 Adank Herrenacker vs 2018 H Koch PN Reserve:
  - Beide Weine 2 Std. vorher geöffnet und belüftet
  - Adank mit intensiver und konzentrierte Sauerkirsche. Säure noch intensiv. Ordentlich Griff und auch die Fleischigkeit, die an Gantenbein erinnert.
  - Koch deutlich weniger herb. Kirsche aber auch etwas Erdbeere oder Himbeere. Leichter und weniger konzentriert. Schöner Trinkfluss. Mittlerer Nachhall und Komplexität.
  - Heute war Koch einfacher zu trinken. Adank interessant, aber am Ende zu teuer. Vielleicht wird das noch mit der Lagerung. In 5-10 Jahren wieder probieren.

  Toller SB vom Kaiserstuhl/Baden.
  Typischer deutscher SB. Rund. Balanciert. Schöner Nachhall und Tiefe.
