  Excellent Napa Cabernet FRANC with big fruit, Mediterranean herbs & spices with a lot of tar in the background. Black pepper and mild tannin on the lengthy finish. Great value for around $75.

  This is a big, savory wine, full of plum and pepper. Some describe cab franc as sensual and feminine, but I don't find that in this. It's opulent. It would probably pair exceptionally well with many beef short rib dishes I've had. No clue how it would age due to my lack of experience and the wine's modest tannins. My guess is that this isn't Clos Rougeard in the making, and though the winemaker believes it will age for 15+ years, it won't necessarily improve by virtue of evolving.
