  • 7 months sur lie. Pure yellow, apple-pomelo w. seashells bouquet. As cool and astringent it is on the nose, as creamy, oily and citrusy (grapefruits) it is on the palate. It lacks a bit acidity to give it a firmer body.

    Drink.

  • 14 K gold color with bright highlights. Very attractive nose that combines an almost surprising burst of ripe white and yellow orchard fruit, honey, and ocean breeze tinged minerality. More substantial body than "ordinary" Muscadet and a creamy texture presumably from old vines and sur lie aging. Near sweetness coming as close to tropicality as I might have ever experienced in Muscadet, but it confers a welcome richness leading to a more "traditional" bracing finish replete with that telltale maritime salinity.

This is flat out delicious in my book and the combination of richness and acid would give it the ability to span a wide range of food, including shellfish, seafood, poultry, simple pork dishes and lotsa cheese.
