A friend's b-day tasting (Washington, D.C.): Love the nose, showing juicy black and red cherries and currants with an airy, perfumed feel, and lots of spicy herbs. The palate has nice grip, zesty acidity, and crunchy cherry fruit. Notes of iron, mineral, tar, menthol, and magic marker add complexity. I'd love to see where this goes in another five or six years.

Elio Sandri Tasting (Freiheit Vinothek, Ulm, Germany): Glass: Riedel Vinum Pinot From Magnum Clear, deep garnet color. Classic floral Barolo nose. On the palate very precise, cool and straight. Deep and dense, very fresh and youthful, good structure and length. 92-93

PnP over a few hours. It definitely opened up a lot more after 2 hours. Very classic Barolo with white pepper, tar, and a nice balance of Red and Blue fruits. I can't wait to see how this develops. I love having these to compare with some of the more modern style Barolos. This has all the structure to cellar for decades. I wish these were easier to find in the US. 92-93
