I may have sold this a bit short last time, as it really is quite good. It's bold and full-flavored, but coupled with the deep tanginess and acidity, it's never too heavy. The peach fruit is almost succulent, and the wet stone on the finish keeps everything nicely grounded. Very pleasant to drink.

This one's worth stocking up on when it's available again. We loved it with fish (sole & salmon) and with pork. Flavors of peach and other early summer stone fruit.

This note refers to Les Fossiles Pinot Gris, one of Jamain's two answers to Rosé, the other being Les Chatillons. They have 4 hectares out of a total of 19 planted to Pinot Gris! This comes from a 1 hectare parcel on the hillside holding of Pierres Plates. Unusual as he could have produced a Rosé de Saignée from his Pinot Noir. Colour: The faintest hint of copper, bright and clear. Nose: Full, fresh, apricot, white peach, delicate aromas. With time develops spicy notes. Taste: Light body, well rounded, excellent fruit, good acidity, flavours of peach and apricot, medium finish, ripe, good fruit flavours. Some residual sugar, although not offensive? An interesting comparison to the "blush" Pinot Grigios from Northern Italy. Does the local terroir give this some tautness and minerality? Dinner party fact: they own their own forest, managed by Denis Jamain, from which they have their barrels made!

Nice peachy notes here, and great acidity. Skews a bit sweet as it warms, but overall an elegant rosé with good mineral undertones.
