  • Decanted for sediment. This wine showed much better and leads me to believe my first bottle was slightly off. On the nose, aromas of violet, fresh black pepper, olive brine and black plum and black cherry. Really nice. Similar flavors on the palate with a mix of dark, ripe fruit and savory olive and pepper notes. Medium+ acidity with a slight sharpness to it. Medium acidity and body. Definitely more of a food wine than a standalone sipping wine and paired perfectly with roast lamb.

  • Raspberry, cranberry, blackberry, pepper. Good structure. A little muted, but may be due to drinking at altitude.

  • Great value. Needed two hours to unwind, then medium ruby with a nose dominated by cranberry fruit but with a musky overlay. Behind that, brioche and some sort of sweet liqueur. I could do with a bit less of the musk. On the palate, tasty, tart, rather long, excellent minerality. Even better on day two, just slowly breathing in the half bottle in a cool, dark spot ion the counter.

  • Popped and poured but should have decanted for fine sediment. Dark crimson, slightly purple in color. Nose of blueberries, violet, some fresh cracked black pepper and olive tapenade. Unmistakably syrah on the nose. While most of the flavors carried through to the palate, the acidity seemed unbalanced and slightly spritzy and tingly on the mouthfeel which detracted from the enjoyment a little. Not sure if that is a bottle variation issue or a vintage one but will see how my second bottle shows.
