Bossona is a single vineyard planted in 1964 by a founder Alibtrando Dei. Made from single varietal of Sangiovese, aged in FR oak for 36 months. Deep garnet. Medium intensity aroma of spiced blackberries, cherries, vanilla, undergrowth, chocolate, violets, hint of camphor and tobacco. Full body, concentrated and rich with smooth and silky texture, deep fruity flavours, complemented by smoky oaky notes, medium+ acidity, high tannins.

Needs an hour of air at least. Really heavy oak influence. Tons of spice, tobacco, and oak on the nose. Those flavors blow off and reveal sweet black cherry and mocha.
Liked it, but wish it was a bit longer/less oaky.
Opened a second bottle on 2/17/24 and added a point to the score. The oak is resolving and length was better as a result.

This is another terrific showing from a great maker of wine. There is a terrific strawberry fruit presence on the nose. Just like past vintages this wine is even better in mouth. Starts with layers of black cherry, then strawberry, then some dark chocolate and then finishes with really ripened strawberry.

Still far too young even if tension and youth is your thing. Bombastic explosion of just ripe cherries and prunes contained in a slender but fiem waistcoat of oak and acids.

A spectacular wine...punches well above its weight. 2016 was magic in Italy and this typifies a good tuscan wine..We served with a robust pasta primavera... complemented perfectly. Earthy tones, good finish -deep ruby color.
