  • Bright nose of dark raspberry, blackcurrant and herbs, then quite a rich attack of blueberry and blackberry, before a cooler streak of blackcurrant which gives it a much-needed elegance on the finish. At first I wasn't impressed, but the silky fruit grew on me and in the end I rather enjoyed it. Not exactly über-rich, this is more like a polished version of a classic style, which reminded me of Villeneuve. At 11 euros, good value.

  • Pretty deep purple color. Explosive notes of super ripe red and dark berries, mostly blueberries and blackberries, some jam, also some licorice, there is also some caramel and crushed flowers. It‘s medium-full bodied, with medium-high acidity and medium+ tannin that is just a touch drying. Pretty long finish with a touch of bell pepper notes.
This is super ripe and more fruit-driven, not usually my preference but this works here. Not the last word about complexity but delicious.
