Deep and broad nose. GREAT fruit, some gumminess (lots of charm), cool and fresh, framed by tobacco smoke. There is some crunchy black cherry, with ripe red fruit high tones, but it's the sense of 'blue' that drives this. Super nose.

Full bodied, silky leaning to creamy, with nice well-balanced acidity. Fresh and elegant, and feels right back on form. Lots of juice, peppery spices, a dose of vanilla and cedar, cassis, dark berries and red fruits with a touch of tea leaf on the finish. Lots of appeal and super length.

It's a big wine, not without elegance. The next night offered up more of the tobacco smoke/ash on the palate, otherwise i'd probably upscore a touch.
