Surprisingly young fruit taste for an '05 at this point. Not complex, but an agreeable wine with pan-seared salmon and a salad of corn and sautéed shrimp. Won't look to buy again.

Dark ruby color, sweet raisin nose. Black cherry predominates and is still tightly-wound raisin, cranberry and cola. bit of tar. Strong structure and medium finish.

Deep garnet with a strong dark red fruit nose. It took 10 minutes for an overbearing nose to blow off this wine, and then it was delightful. Still a bit strong, I'm going to keep my last 2 bottles for 2011 and 2012. Distinct black cherry layers, some cola, excellent balance and finish. I don't always disagree with the CT reviews, but I'm with Wine Spectator on this one.

based upon the CT reviews I pulled my only Carter PN bottle and gave it to the DW to use as cooking wine. I have lots of great Oregon PN's, no reason to drink bad ones. Thanks fellow CT winos for the heads up!

This was just bad... quite harsh nose, acidic, and disjointed. Astringent mid-palate, off balanced, gross fruit. Hot, harsh, and astringent finish. This was just completely out of whack for me, and even my small pour was hard to get down. I'd have a tough time drinking a full glass. I'm probably over scoring this...
