Very broad nose, almost some nougat character. Ditto palate. It is falling apart in quite a strange way. It’s like it’s totally lost its acid backbone. A lesson for me in this. Condrieu can live for decades, the best of them. Even Yarra Valley ones that are quite well made may well need to be drunk young.

First Wednesday Wine Club (Francobollo, Haberfield): "Served blind Peachy, apricot, savoury, farty, a little white pepper. Juicy, savoury, thick, dense, rich, quite waxy textured, with some alcohol warmth. Australian Rhone blend - Viognier, Marsanne, Roussanne, less than five years old. "

Nice. Friendly and expressive; broad palate. Seems like a short-term job for the cellar.
