Typical dark garnet color, berries, smoke with a slight metallic aspect on the nose. The heat and acidity softened 2 hours after opening along with an anticipated mellowing of the tannins. Plum, pencil lead, spices with hints of eggplant on the palate with round tannins. Great mouthfeel, but should improve with a little cellaring. Not a memorable finish. There are a lot of very sim. wines in the $12 to $18 price range that kick this wine's butt.

Strong wine considering it’s age. Blackberries, pencil, dark brown/red color. Really enjoyed this one.
