Ripe apricot / apricot preserves, fresh ginger, the acid/sugar balance is pitch perfect. Good with Christmas ham, would have been even better with a richer preparation.

Nose primarily of honey but also a hint of rubber cement. Thick tasty palate of honey and melon. Falls a bit short on the midpalate, but a decent finish and well integrated acidity. Delicious.

Golden yellow color. Sweet honey, sugary, pear smell. Slick, oily texture. Thick, sweet, honey taste but not too sweet considering it's a dessert wine. Easy drinkability. Very enjoyable.

Today's Bordeaux (W Hotel, Chicago IL): nose: very light nose of melon and honey with bits of caramel in there
taste: easy and light with melon rhines and honey
overall: a very nice sauternes, but not that complex and doesn't bring as much depth as I've had in the past
