Definitely showing its age; reflects a clear, medium gold color and medium body. Savory aromatic and flavor profile displays bruised, red apples; browning yellow pears; day old orange melons; stale orange juice; roasted nuts; and salt laden soil. Acidity and freshness is fading quickly; medium minus finish. Drink now; needs food. Past peak and in decline.

100% Cortese Gentile from the Gavi subzone. Med yellow. Med aromas of white flowers, subtle pineapple, banana, melon, lemon, fresh herbs and wet stone. Surprisingly tropical for a Gavi. Four months of aging on lees in steel. Dry, w/ med+ acidity and med alcohol (12.5%). Med body, with med+ flavor intensity and length w/ a slight saline mineralnote and a slight bitterness on the grapefruit pith finish. Drink now, not intended for further aging. Good by itself or with food. Solid QPR.

I'm going to miss having this in the cellar. Perfect whenever a dry white was called for, with plenty of backbone. My son will be bitterly disappointed the next time he's here for dinner because he's been grabbing it whenever he had the chance. Gavi just doesn't show up that often.

After a flawed bottle back in April, this turned out quite nice with notes of lime zest, tangy lemon, unripe peach, and salty minerality underscored with fresh acidity. Enjoyed with a baked queso encrusted tilapia casserole.
