Blind tasted. On the nose, not much at first. Some floral elements and maybe some cherry. Palate wise is equally muted with the fruits. Medium tannins, high acidity. Finish is mineral and acid.
Remove the blindfold and it is ruby. The nose is starting to wake up with plum and olive brine. A bit more fruit came out with the extra time – getting cherries and plums now. Finish evolved a bit and is more fruity. I am thinking this is a Pinot Noir – but not from the US given the treatment. And it is one that has not spent time in new oak. I am also thinking this needs some time exposed to the air.
The reveal: d’Autrefois Pinot Noir. My partner did double-decant this for 45 minutes. This isn’t bad, but not exactly exciting me. Feels like a house wine at a restaurant.

Balanced, dry, a touch open-knitted, no oak. Delicious table wine with a superb QPR, punching well above its weight. Benefits greatly from air.
