  • Drinking just fine today, but drink up. It starts a little steely and musty, but give it two hours and all that blows off and it drinks just fine. Now aromas offer dusty plum skin, some very ripe briar, and still a little bit of old book. Palate entry is mature in profile, showing soft texture and creamy round fruit of the darker complexion, some of those older notes here too, but some light acidity and tannin are still present along with flavors of plums and other dark berries. More acid shows up on the finish which is soft, rich and pure, showing itself mature but pretty. This isn't too old, but it is fully mature and ready to be enjoyed at peak or slightly after. It may have had some more vibrancy in its youth, but what it's showing today is nice.

  • I mistoke it for at rightbank bordeaux from a good (not great) producer and of about the same age.

Fine wine, there is a couple of years left in it if kept properly.

  • Double decanted for two hours, served at room temperature. Color: Medium Red with Orange hue. Nose: Caramel, Vanilla, Dried Cherry, Asian Spice. Palate: see nose. Finish: Medium. Tannins: Medium. Alcohol: 13% well integrated. Medium bodied mouthfeel with initial red fruit. Mid-palate adds caramel transitioning into a finish with asian spice and underlining vanilla. More elegance and finesse than I am accustomed with Italian reds. The signature acidity is still present throughout. 90-91 points.

  • A nice, relatively soft showing at this point. Good but not great.
