Showing really well (as did all of the Cab Francs) esp. for 2003; dark, richer with very ample more rustic tannins, herbal, bell pepper, dark berries, melding together very nicely indeed. Of the 3 CF's, this was the biggest but more rustic. The Rougeard was the most elegant (and complex), the Baudry Franc Pied was sort of in between and well-blalanced. EWG Loire dinner at Otono. Perfect pairing with the full-flavored steak

Deep black-purple, cloudy; macerated cherries, rubber, asphalt, heady, almost syrupy, smooth, plush classic '03 heat, round, voluptuous; showing a little wet compost, desiccated flower petals, medium tannins, med. acid for a Bourgeuil. Showing good age right now with plenty of teriaries and supple aging characteristics. Good for another 4-5 yrs + but good place now. I don't think it will improve from here. Not your typical high acid, herbal, tart juicy Cab Franc. Great with Wagyu grilled steak on a skillet.

Blind at home: Ruby red with some black flecks; plum, sour cherry, red currant, wet and baked earth, light floral notes; intense mouth, appealing sour plum and red fruits in back end; next day same red fruits with touch bell pepper and wet tobacco. Med.+ alc, good lifting acidity still, med. grippy tannins. Still supple, lots of terroir, fuller body for Bourgueil. Guessed '08 Rioja. This is killer for a 2003. Very nice. Maybe 92.

Augustus: seemed very weird and off; funky, brett, pungent.
