From a PnP. Deep inky purple-ruby in color. Nose of barnyard, dark blue fruits, caramel, sweet baking spices, and a lurking floral element. Heavy bodied, but lighter than I was expecting for a PS, spot on medium high acidity, and well balanced. Palate of blueberries, plums, earth, and a bit of tea. Tannins are in that stage between rough and velvet, but they further bring in black tea, graphite, and a bit of cocoa. Finish is long – pencil shavings, a bit of blueberries, and Earl Grey Tea. A persisting Bergamot finish remains after a minute.
This is nice, has enough layers, and saved dinner. Probably needed to be decanted, but didn’t have that option. Needed a few more years in the bottle.
