Excellent Riesling from a favorite maker. Pure, delicate, perfectly balanced between lightly sweet fruit and firm acidity, with a nice mineral backbone. Really nice.

Aromas of anise, peach, and petrol. Flavors of nectarines, roasted lemon, floral notes with a nice, rounded acidity in the finish. Enjoyed with grill roasted chicken served over fresh romaine lettuce and cherry tomatoes lightly coated in a Caesar dressing. This is a Napa white Riesling and it’s a very good one.

Thursday Night Wines (Las vegas, NV): Fuzzy nectarines and lemons, without much acidity. Just a disappointing bottle. It’s dumb to attempt comparing young Napa Riesling to young Mosel Riesling, but it’s impossible to avoid. No contest. I was left bored. Add to that the recent price inflation at Stony Hill and this will be a major pass.

Apricot, lime, green apple, sage, rosemary, spring flowers... zippy but not bracing, very fresh and juicy, a little pithy and herbal. Lovely warm climate Riesling.

Bright acid and high energy. More stuffing than some Rieslings from Germany at its price point. Would hold itself nicely in a comparative blind.
