Today's celebration is opening this bottle which I have had in my cellar for many years. It is the last of my several years as an allocation member and is a bitter-sweet remembrance of good friends and great times in the Bay Area and at the winery.
While this wine is over its prime, it is still showing nicely. Dry ripe fruit, jalapeño seed, and savory notes. Deep plum and rust coloring which are signatures of Terra Valentine's wine.
I am so pleased with our last dance...for now.

Probably held this bottle a couple of years past its prime and best to PNP as opposed to decanting. After an hour in the decanter, the fruit and grip dissipated and its age began to show.

Still showing well. Deep ruby core with lighter rim, only exhibited a trace of browning. Nose of smoke/toast, black cherry and rosemary. Lush and full texture. Palate includes cinnamon, rosemary, crushed blackberry. Very well balanced and integrated. Finish is medium+ with just a hint of residual tannin and acidity on the rear palate. No notable alcohol. Proably at full maturity, not likely to improve but will hold for another year or two before declining.

- Brick color - Very good even past its prime. Still had a lot of life in it. Well balanced mountain cab. Did not decant.

Opened my last bottle. Cork was about shot, so did have to filter, but the wine was still very nice.
