This finished 2nd in our blind tasting of 8 Cabernet Sauvignon/Bordeaux blends (a very pleasant surprise for me). 100% Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from the 36 year old Scottdale Vineyard. Opened 3 hours before drinking. An earthy nose with a little sweetness to it. A softer profile than the other wines and more feminine with an almost old world feel to it. Notes of leather, eucalyptus and currants. 89 points.

Cab Showdown: Michigan v West Coast (Chateau Vino Me): Double blind. Aromas of cranberry, strawberry and currants. Light- to medium-bodied, more substantial than wine B. Herb and red berry fruit flavors on the palate. A little thin to start, this fleshes out nicely with air. I am fairly certain this is another of the MI wines, but it's quite good and I find myself wanting to pour another taste.
Group #2, 13pts. (VM)

Benefits from a decant. Bright red fruits dancing on your tongue. A slightly tannic finish with lingering notes of chocolate and sweet tobacco. Great job !

4th Saturday Brown Bagger (M&R's): Double decanted a little over three hours before it was served double blind to the group just before dinner was served.
Light color. Aromas of white currant and red berry fruit. The palate mirrors the bouquet. Lighter in body than one expects in a cabernet but the fruit is very bright and there’s good underlying acidity. Good.

Courtesy of our host, from a bottle opened for a prior tasting. 2020 was an excellent vintage in the Lake Michigan Shore AVA. Light inky garnet color. Black currant, herb, red berry fruit, vanilla and spice notes. On the lighter side of medium-bodied, with flavors of macerated red berries, clove and just a hint of bell pepper in the finish. Quite nice.
