Really matured since bottle opened in '18, nose was soft, dried red fruits, mostly cherry and over ripe strawberry with subtle background nuances of spice and dried autmn leaves. Not typical Clos Vougeot as this leans more elegant. Palate was lithy, great acidity which leant a juicy edge to the otherwise dry mid palate. Finish was a touch short but this was showing great and really paired well with our dinner. Excellent showing.

Drinking very well at 18 years. Red fruit on the nose. The palate is cherry, plum and a hint of raspberry. The finish is a little on the short side which held me back from rating in higher.

Great example of an elegant 2004. Lighter in weight but high in translucence. Light ruby in color. Bright red fruit. Touches of iron. Well done. Drank along side a 2005. Remarkably similar with the 2005 just a touch more power.

91-92+ Some development but still quite primary, relatively tight nose took some air to coax out the pinot fruit. Nice acidity, medium body, on the leaner side. This still needs quite a bit more time, hold for now and drink the village Raphet.

Pinot from around the world (Pacific Dining Car): Tasted blind. Mint, earth, beautiful nose; a little stemmy/weedy with air. Juicy on the palate, where it shows just fantastically. Soft finish. Maybe German, perhaps the Furst? Very good.
After the reveal: wow, very good, but maybe slightly surprised it was Burgundy.
