This wine just gets better and better! Rich gold bullion colour that delights the eye. Wonderful nose of coconut, pineapple, marmalade, toffee and warm spice creating an exotic scent that overspills the glass and overloads the senses. Palate equally seductive, a veritable assault on the tastebuds by similar nuances with rich citrus/caramelized marmalade at the fore, middle of oil of lemon blossom and velvety glycerine, finishing with perfectly balanced acidity and lingering mixed spice. This tells me not only how special this particular chateau and wine is but just how fantastic the 2001 sweet Bordeaux are. Must drink again in another 5+ years. A great wine.
