  • Quite charming. Such a joy to drink. Definitely punching way above its village class.

Oak, violet and touch of reduction. Light to medium body with high acidity. Well-defined black cherry and black currant fruits have a touch of liqueur-like character, but in a good way. Slight savory note hidden in midpalate. Silky tannin. Finishes with strong mineral note.

It's filled with youthful vibrancy right now. I'm curious how this will develop. Good acidity and tannin suggests some potentials.

  • Really engaging aromatics - red fruit, violets, extremely pretty. Medium intensity palate, medium weight, slightly darker fruited and some nice Gevrey-Chambertin earthiness. A good long finish, tart, bracing, well balanced. A bit of tannin to show that this has some interesting potential for development but utterly drinkable now. Very strong showing for a modestly priced village wine.

  • Dinner with the wine group (Zoom): Youthful light ruby-purple; high intensity aromatics, savory spice, Chambolle or Vosne-style aromatics, red to purple fruit; palate is medium bodied, excellent saturation and intensity while preserving an elegant mouthfeel, very youthful red cherry and strawberry fruit, ripe but not overripe, medium alcohol; finish is medium length though a bit less interesting than the nose. An excellent red burgundy showing good balance and a particularly strong and youthful nose. My favorite of the lineup. 91-92+
Day 2: a bit of a new smoky character today. I like the aromatic evolution over time.
