  Ho-hum. If you're used to drinking pricier GCs, this was meh. Nothing special. You get what you pay for.

  The bizarre and endless quest for a Burgundy. This is a good wine, no doubt about it. But why? Garnet / ruby colour, lighter at rim. Medium intensity.
  An interesting nose of ripe red, berry, cherryish fruits. Distinct edge of earth, spice with a touch of farmyard and vanilla.
  Medium bodied at best and beautifully smooth. It has a strength and firmness where you wouldn't expect to find any. Acidity is still evident and I wonder how it will evolve? The nose is giving more than the palate and perhaps that will come through? I think there is a good chance this will be even better in 3-5 yrs. But if the fruit disappears I'm not sure what will remain??? To be continued...
